FOUNDER'S STORY
I am Walton Li, founder and CEO of Green & Grind Sports Academy. We are Hong Kong's first eco-conscious sports academy that strives to empower all to live an eco-active lifestyle.
Guess what GREEN & GRIND means? It means sports and environmental protection. These two things just so happen to be my two life passions.
Sports have always been a big part of my life. When I was young, I swam a lot. Then, during my high school and university years, I picked up basketball and dancing. Through sports, I have met so many good friends; I have had so many wonderful and unforgettable memories; I have accomplished a few things (such as winning the biggest UK inter-university Chinese basketball tournament and securing places at multiple inter-university dance competitions).
My environmentalist career has also been eventful and rewarding. Since graduating from University College London with a Geography degree, I have strived to save the environment by working for many green companies and NGOs, such as World Wide Fund For Nature, bio-bean, Greenpeace, PIE Strategy Limited, ETIV do Brasil.
My positive sports experiences and my environmental working experiences made me realise we must all live an eco-active life for the well-being of ourselves and the planet Earth.
So, in 2019, I decided to take a big leap of faith and founded Green & Grind sports academy. Amidst the COVID pandemic, my team and I strive to build Green & Grind's basketball programme with Positive and Passionate coaching, the GRIT Mindset and Eco-Consciousness.
And thanks to my gritty team and our supportive parents and students, we have managed to achieve a few things (please read below)!

Our partner, a Dutch sustainable brand, is providing us with microplastic-free, ethnically-made and eucalyptus coach uniform
